OFF THE SHELF AND INTO THE WILD
On a bright, blustery morning in San Francisco, Don Henson focused his first generation iPhone Camera on a collapsed roof on Alcatraz Island, instinctually capturing the dew-covered vines deftly ascend the crumbling cement, lending testament to the jaw-dropping power of nature unchecked. It was at that moment when Don realized his future no longer held the promising IT career he’d envisioned at IBM, but as a leader in cultivating a powerful appreciation of nature - an outdoor adventure photographer.
He traded his uncomplicated iPhone camera for something more sophisticated, a Nikon D40. 11 years and a couple cameras later, he continues to comb the seven continents for his next breathtaking shot, always taking BRAVEN along for the ride.
Don often travels alone, so music serves as his unwavering travel companion, preserving high-spirits, at times offering moments of reflection and others of physical safety. He also keeps a go bag readily stocked with his hi-res mirrorless camera, his BRV-XXL and a couple changes of clothes so he can take on adventure at a moment’s notice. Don knows better than most, the perfect shot can’t be accompanied by anything better than unforgettable memories and the perfect note.
